Over the past five years, I've slowly been collecting and investing in the best modern outdoor furniture to build our own personal outdoor oasis. We are a big "outdoors family," and when the weather is nice, we spend all day soaking in the sun.

In addition to the Wayfair items you'll find on my own patio, I've found a few extra hidden gems that will help you decorate your patio on a budget. Specifically, a modern all-weather side table that doubles as a cooler and plastic folding adirondack chairs that have a cup holder!
They have a beautiful texture and have quickly become one of my favorite outdoor accents on our roof. We take them down in the winter and every year when we bring them up, I'm always struck by how much personality and style they provide to the space.
When it comes to patio furniture, I find it especially important to look at reviews. A patio set can look incredible, but only last a year or two before the sun starts fading the cushions, the frame starts to chip, or the finish starts to peel.
It's a bit of an investment, but there's a reason that the Polywood name keeps coming up on your searches: it's darn good. It's so durable because it's not made of wood at all - it's made of a high-density polyethylene plastic, so it's heavy, durable, and stylish.
When we eventually have to replace our lounge set, my husband and I both agree that we will invest in a Polywood set. The 20-year warranty and our experience has taught us that it's totally worth it in the long run.
There are so many non-aesthetic deck boxes out there! We desperately needed storage on our roof for our patio cushions, but I didn't want to draw attention to it. I wanted something that would match the rest of our modern rooftop, was minimalist, and honestly would blend in as much as possible.
Would you believe that these planters aren't real? Unfortunately, real plants don't survive the direct sun and harsh conditions on our roof (trust me, I've tried everything), so I created my own fake planters that look real.
